| Blackmagic Design Unveils DeckLink 5.7 for Microsoft Windows Blackmagic Design has announced DeckLink 5.7 for Windows that includes a new full resolution HD and SD codec that combines incredible online quality with huge disk savings, important when working on long form HDTV production. Traditionally, DeckLink cards are used for uncompressed work; however with DeckLink 5.7, users can choose compressed Online JPEG video that's full resolution HD, includes high quality 4:2:2 color sampling, and very low compression rate. Fully compatible with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and other DirectShow software, customers working with Online JPEG will see a significant reduction in disk space, and bandwidth requirements. Capture and playback are easily possible from a single internal hard disk. Uncompressed media can be combined on the same Premiere Pro timeline as Online JPEG as well as DV, still image files, and HDV files, so customers can choose the best codec for the work they're doing. Online JPEG can be used for long form content of camera based footage, while uncompressed can be used for effects dropped into the edit timeline. Also included in this update is new firmware for DeckLink HD PCIe models that upgrade the PCI Express interface to full 64 bit compliant, so customers can break the system memory limit, and expand memory when running the DeckLink 5.7 for Windows XP x64 software drivers. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Computing News :: home page |
