| Ingenica Announces Uniprint Terminal Server Edition 6.0 Ingenica has announced the release of UniPrint Terminal Server Edition (TSE) 6.0. A printing solution for Server-based Computing environments, UniPrint TSE is specifically developed to make enterprise-class printing functionality a cost-effective reality for small and medium-sized businesses working within a Microsoft Terminal Server environment. UniPrint TSE 6.0 is priced to enable SMBs to eliminate the time and expense associated with managing different manufacturers' print drivers within the Microsoft Terminal Server environment. UniPrint TSE 6.0 seamlessly integrates with any manufacturer's device to make it simple to print documents without first having to install a specific driver on the Terminal Server hosting the user's application. This not only simplifies printer management, but also improves printer compatibility and thus reduces associated help-desk costs. UniPrint TSE 6.0 provides instant productivity gains by enabling users to print to any available printer – in the office, at home, or at a remote site. UniPrint TSE 6.0 has been redesigned to greatly simplify installation and administration while simultaneously improving performance. All-new functionality includes full Active Directory integration to make it simple to configure UniPrint settings using Group Policy, a new MSI install package to allow for application deployment through Active Directory, a new administrator-friendly management console, improved file compression to further reduce print-related bandwidth utilization, and enhanced email features that can support any SMTP server on the network. When printing, UniPrint TSE creates a Portable Document Format (PDF) print job that is returned to the client workstation via UniPrint's private virtual channel, making it simple for users to print automatically, preview, save, or email print jobs. To ensure data security, if the client device has a network printer defined, print jobs are automatically sent to the default printer. UniPrint TSE's universal Portable Document Format increases server stability by eliminating printer compatibility issues commonly experienced when running different manufacturers' printers within a multi-user server-based computing environment. Also, as PDF files are significantly smaller than other printing formats, UniPrint TSE actually reduces printer bandwidth utilization by over 90 percent – resulting in less work for the server, improved application performance, and faster, more efficient printing. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Computing News :: home page |
