| Xbox 360 HD DVD Drive to Ship at $200, Says DigiTimes  A report in DigiTimes says that Microsoft's HD DVD drive for the Xbox 360 syste will ship at $200, or ?100. The report has caused something of a stir, not least because it had been rumoured elsewhere that Xbox 360 HD DVD would retail at $500 (or ?265). The DigiTimes' report also informs that Xbox 360 HD DVD drive will be on the shelves by Christmas 2006. This report published in the Taiwanese tech magazine has provoked a variety of reactions, with PlayStation website PS3Land using it as an opportunity to compare and contrast the two offerings from the two opponent games console manufacturers.However, gadget magazine T3 points out that the Xbox 360 HD DVD player add-on could become "the cheapest way for consumers to get on the HD DVD bandwagon – even if you factor in the Xbox 360's cost of ?210".
