Toshiba Announces LCD Projector with Integrated Document Camera

Toshiba's Digital Products Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, has introduced the TLP-XC2500U LCD projector, the company's latest model incorporating an advanced document camera. The TLP-XC2500U is designed for teachers, corporate trainers, mobile professionals and small- to medium-sized businesses who would like to project live hands-on demonstrations, three-dimensional objects or documents with a high-quality, versatile projector.

With the TLP-XC2500U projector, users simply extend the camera arm from the projector and position it to incorporate photo samples, printed documents, blueprints, microscopic images, three-dimensional objects or close-up views of demonstrations of a new product or science project into their presentations. With its 3 mega pixel resolution, 16x zoom and built-in LED light, the document camera ensures bright and clear video images, even in a darkened room.

The TLP-XC2500U also incorporates a unique anti-theft device for extra security. A removable palm-sized control panel on the projector is specially designed with a self-assigned password for theft prevention. When the control panel is removed, the projector is no longer operable unless the password is entered on the remote control.

Weighing 8.8 pounds, the TLP-XC2500U features Toshiba's latest enhanced Natural Color Enhancer3 (NCE3) which makes LCD images exceptionally sharp and vivid. Packaged in a compact form factor, the projector features an impressive 2, 500 ANSI lumens, XGA 1024 x 768 resolution, and 400:1 contrast ratio to deliver bright, captivating images for the classroom or conference room.

The TLP-XC2500U includes other features that Toshiba is incorporating in its latest line of projectors, including:
- One-touch auto setup on a fully loaded presentation remote to ensure worry-free, professional presentations even in the most unforgiving environments;
- Instant power shut down capability that enables the projector to power off instantly once disconnected from the power outlet with no cool-down time required;
- Digital zoom function on the remote control allowing the presenter to zoom in on a specific image presentation element such as spreadsheet numbers or other important details.

Offering users a variety of connectivity options, the TLP-XC2500U projector includes composite video and S-video inputs, audio in and variable audio output capabilities. The special monitor-out capabilities allow users to display and view images on a monitor and screen simultaneously. This feature allows the presenter to face their audience directly rather than turning around to read slides as they appear on the screen.

The TLP-XC2500U also includes automatic vertical keystone correction (plus or minus 30 degrees) that instantly projects a square image even when the projector is set up at a steep offset angle to the screen. Ensuring that the presentation is the center of attention, the TLP-XC2500U offers whisper-quiet operation of only 33 decibels (dB) (in low mode) - quieter than a soft conversation.
