| GaugeToolsXL Software by NDC NDC has introduced GaugeToolsXL, a new software tool developed in-house to enable users of NDC Series 710 Gauges gain access to process-critical measurement information in real-time via their PC or Laptop. Series 710 Gauges are typically supplied with a colour touch-screen giving day-to-day access to product recipes and displaying measurement values. GaugeToolsXL complements this by allowing the user to configure any number of "Workspaces" on his computer screen to display the information he wants to see, in a choice of formats. For example, he may wish to see the instantaneous moisture value as a digital display, whilst comparing this to a long-term trend in chart-recorder style. Having established alarm and critical alarm levels, the user can chose an analogue display with the dial changing from green to yellow to red, when alarm levels are exceeded. With a simple mouse click, GaugeToolsXL then allows the user to Log measurement data to file for later analysis in a spreadsheet, for example. Log files can be simply re-opened later and added to when required. The purpose of any Series 710 instrument is to provide real-time measurements with laboratory accuracy to achieve process optimization. GaugeToolsXL allows laboratory reference data to be imported and compared to Gauge values, and the optimum calibration adjustments established. The Calibration Tool applies logic to ascertain the reliability of reference data and the best method of adjustment, whilst providing a full statistical analysis. All calibration data can be displayed graphically to provide maximum insight. In a facility using a number of networked Series 710 gauges, GaugeToolsXL can automatically seek out and identify all 710 gauges, displaying each by name or number in a convenient Explorer style display. Each can then be individually accessed or a composite workspace configured to display critical information from each. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Computing News :: home page |
