| GTA Expands Firewall Family with Gigabit Firewall Global Technology Associates has announced a high-powered firewall appliance, the GB-3000 Gigabit Firewall Appliance. The GB-3000 is designed for SME businesses with gigabit networks. The GB-3000 provides support for up to twelve network interfaces, ten of which can operate at speeds up to 1 gigabit per second. The GB-3000 Gigabit Firewall Appliance standard configuration includes a 3.2Ghz processor, dual redundant hot-swap power supplies, two 10/100 Ethernet interfaces and two 1000/100/10 TX gigabit Ethernet interfaces in a 2-RU rack mount enclosure. The GB-3000 can be upgraded via user installable four port expansion modules available with either 10/100/1000TX or Mini-GBIC interfaces. The Mini-GBIC expansion option allows the unit to be customized to accommodate most fiber gigabit connectivity form factors. The GB-3000 includes threat management functionality through GTA's Mail Sentinel Anti-Spam and Mail Sentinel Anti-Virus email filtering. These subscription based options allow users to have the most current virus definitions and spam detection rules automatically uploaded to their firewall. The new firewall appliance model is powered by the full-featured GB-OS 4.0.1, certified to meet ICSA 4.1 corporate criteria. GB-OS includes advanced firewall features and flexible configuration options to match a vast array of network designs. The GB-3000 will available in August 2006. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Computing News :: home page |
