| GE Fanuc Embedded Systems' 6U VMEbus V5D Single Board Computer GE Fanuc Embedded Systems announces its new 6U VMEbus V5D Single Board Computer. The Intel Pentium M processor-based V5D uses the 1.4 GHz Pentium M processor LV 738 for improved performance and lower power requirements compared to the V5C SBC. The V5D includes the Intel 855GME Chipset which provides a 400 MHz Front Side Bus interface and a memory controller with a 64-bit 266 MHz memory interface that services up to 1 GB of DDR SDRAM. It also includes an internal SVGA video controller with 2D and 3D graphics engines and a 350 MHz 24-bit RAMDAC that can drive an analog CRT monitor at resolutions up to 1600 x 1200. The V5D features two USB 2.0 ports and two Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 ports, and can be configured with up to three optional PMC carrier sites to give the V5D extensive expansion capability. With its ability to perform byte swapping in hardware, the V5D provides better performance over software solutions when data is transferred to and from different processor-based systems. Optional configurations are available for customers who want to use the V5D in industrial applications that require extended temperature operations. The V5D is available with VxWorks, Linux or Windows XP support and is RoHS-compliant. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Computing News :: home page |
