| Source Technologies' New Multi-Function Printer Source Technologies has announced the availability of its second-generation magnetic ink character recognition (MICR) multi-function printer, the ST9551. Printing checks securely and on-demand using MICR toner and blank check stock has often been too costly for small companies and small remote branches or offices of larger organizations that did not have the check volumes to justify the purchase. Combining MICR printing with other functions reduces the overall acquisition cost of this capability. The ST9551 is the follow-on product to Source Technologies' first MICR MFP, the ST9325MFP, introduced last year. It prints up to 50 pages per minute and offers audit trail reporting, lockable paper tray options, software and hardware password controls, and MICR toner sensing. In addition, the ST9551 features "MICR MFP Protection", a unique set of configurable security features that lets end-users manage copy usage to prevent unauthorized or inadvertent copying of checks using MICR toner. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Computing News :: home page |
