| Toshiba Ships Three New Satellite P100 Notebooks ![]() The products also include the latest Intel Core Duo Processors that reduce power consumption while boosting overall performance from graphics to wireless capabilities, as well as a DVI-D output port to allow users to connect to an HDTV. The three new Satellite P100 notebooks also include an Express Media Player consumer infrared remote control that gives users convenient access to power, CD, DVD, volume and other multimedia functions without booting up the Windows operating system. The slim remote is stored in the PC card slot of the notebook. The Satellite P100 notebooks include features such as a fingerprint reader for one-touch secure access management as well as a customizable Dual Mode touch pad that can provide one-tap short cuts to launch e-mail, an Internet browser and other selected programs. Other highlights of the three new Satellite P100 models include: - a DVD SuperMulti Double Layer drive that reads and writes in up to 11 formats that can nearly double a recordable DVD's storage capacity for photo, music and video files in either DVD+R or DVD-R double layer formats; - 5-in-1 bridge media adapter for easy file sharing and downloads; - built-in harman/kardon stereo speakers for a rich audio experience; - TruBrite technology from Toshiba for a crisp, clear display; - updated Mobile Intel 945 Express chipset and the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 ABG network connection as part of Intel Centrino Mobile Technology; - Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system. In addition to the DVI-D output port, the three new Satellite P100 notebooks include four USB 2.0 ports, TV-Out (S-Video), iLINK IEEE 1394, RGB, RJ-11 modem (v.92), RJ-45 LAN, S/P DIF output port (shared with the headphone port) and microphone port. The new Satellite P100 notebook chassis dimensions are 15.5 by 10.8 by 1.41 inches. The Satellite P100 notebooks integrate Toshiba ConfigFree software, the company's intuitive graphic connectivity management utility for optimum wireless access. Included Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 software enables users to better capture, organize, find and share notes gathered from e-mail, meetings, presentations, classes, the Web and other sources.
