Advantech Corporation launches the AIMB-740-6CB1, a new industrial ATX motherboard built on the versatile Intel 845GV chipset. The AIMB-740-6CB1 is equipped with popular computing capabilities, and features rich connectivity: six onboard serial ports, and up to six USB connections are available. Designed for entry-level applications, the AIMB-740-6CB1 is the ultimate platform at the most attractive price when performance and connectivity are major concern. Measuring 12"x 9.6", the AIMB-740-6CB1 is a highly integrated platform built for robust industrial computing. The AIMB-740-6CB1 supports Intel Pentium 4/Celeron D/Mobile Pentium 4-M processors with speeds of 2.6 GHz to 3.06 GHz and L2 cache up to 512K. Using the Intel 845GV chipset, the AIMB-740-6CB1 features Hyper-Threading (HT) technology which executes two calculations concurrently, enabling multi-tasking applications. The AIMB-740-6CB1 can deliver a wide memory bandwidth with a 400/533 MHz front side bus and offers a maximum memory capacity of 2 GB for DDR 266/333 SDRAM. To offer a cost-effective graphics solution, the AIMB-740-6CB1 supplies an integrated VGA graphics controller, supported by up to 64 MB of system memory, saving the expense of an add-on graphics card.

This 845GV chipset-based platform extends the Intel Pentium 4 processor capabilities with rich expandability. Five 32-bit/33 MHz PCI slots support the most current expansion devices. The AIMB-740-6CB1 is equipped with six serial ports and up to six high-speed USB ports. These features offer super flexibility for connecting external drives/flash, keyboard, mouse and other peripherals. Additional features include two on-board, programmable 8-bit GPIO headers for a variety of custom connectivity. The board also supports single 10/100 Base-T Ethernet LAN to guarantees customers economical, highly reliable, instant networking access.

Better still, to fulfill the demand for reliable, easy-to-swap data storage, a space is reserved for optional Type I/II Compact Flash socket. When accompanied by Advantech's SNMP-1000 module, the intelligent SNMP/HTTP system manager, the AIMB-740-6CB1 allows users to remotely monitor and manage the system. Designed with compatibility considerations, the AIMB-740-6CB1 accommodates Advantech's multiple rack from 1U slim chassis up to 7U chassis and wall-mounted chassis.
