Avaya Transforms Businesses With Intelligent Communications

Avaya chairman and CEO Don Peterson and Gordon Stitt, CEO of Extreme Networks, will comprise an exclusive CEO Panel Keynote on May 2 at Interop 2006, hosted by Johna Till Johnson, president and senior founding partner of Nemertes Research Inc., a New-York based research firm that specializes in analyzing the business value of emerging technologies. These market leaders will discuss how the power of Intelligent Communications, the ability to link business processes, is changing the way people work and improving the way businesses operate in multi-vendor, standards-based networking environments.

For the third time, Avaya will serve as an official Network Provider for InteropNet, the Internet Protocol (IP) network for the exposition. Interop 2006 is scheduled for May 2-4 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

In a series of speaking engagements and solution demonstrations, Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services, will show the business changing possibilities of IP telephony and the advantages of implementing advanced applications.

In Avaya Booth 1548, conference attendees can experience Avaya one-X Quick Edition, Avaya's new, award-winning, IP telephony peer-to-peer solution for very small businesses and small branch offices. Avaya also will have a full complement of IP servers, applications, gateways, IP phones and SIP enablement solutions on display to show intelligent communications in action and how the ability to link communications with business processes can revolutionize collaboration, customer service and mobile communications.

Speakers from Avaya and its customer companies will participate in a variety of Interop education sessions to demonstrate how intelligent communications applications, combined with IP networking, open up a world of possibilities for business. The sessions include:

Avaya customer Kevin McPhee, IT Manager, First Health will participate in this session, where end users will tell their stories: How the companies decided to migrate to VoIP, what the costs were, and where they're taking the technology. May 2, 11:30 a.m.

* Foundry Networks Panel: Answering the Call of IP - VoIP in the Enterprise Eric Rossman, vice president, Developer and Technical Alliances, Avaya, will join a panel discussing business continuity, voice-capable networking and the future of business communications applications and intelligent communications, May 2, 11:15 a.m.

* IT Manager Roundtable
Avaya customer Brett Jones, director, Operations for George Washington University will participate in a panel discussion about ways to ensure a successful mobile deployment. Learn from their experiences in designing, implementing and managing enterprise-class mobile solutions. May 2, 2:15 p.m.

* SIP Status and Prospects
Gabriel H. Campos-Woslavsky, director, Product Management, Converged Systems Div, Avaya, will speak on the benefits and maturity of SIP for enterprise implementations. May 2, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

* Managed and Hosted Voice Services
George Humphrey, director, Avaya Global Services will discuss how enterprises of all sizes are looking at different options for the delivery of communications applications. Various service delivery models, including hosted subscription services, will be covered, with real-life success stories and advice for approaching the selection of a hosting provider. * SOA and Web Services: A Reality Check
David Butler, director, Application Enablement Services, Avaya, will discuss the adoption of Service Oriented Architecture as the technology platform on which Avaya will build future applications. Butler will discuss how SOA delivers unique value to enterprises by optimizing business process automation and expediting exception-based activities through improved communications flow. * Converged Wireless Voice Panel
Carolyn Nguyen, director, Global Mobility Strategy, Avaya, will discuss the role of VoIP in future of wireline and wireless voice communications. May 3, 2:15 p.m.

An Avaya Partner Pavilion in Booth 1548 will feature members of the Avaya DeveloperConnection program - an initiative to promote the development of innovative, third-party products that interoperate with Avaya and extend the value of a company's investment in its network. The Partner Pavillion will include Aruba Wireless Networks, Citel, Expand Networks, Extreme Networks, INFOBLOX, Lucent Technologies, Sync Voice Communications, Symbol Technologies and Tello.
