Canon's Three New LCD Projectors

Canon releases three new compact multimedia projectors - the Canon LV-7255, LV-7250, and LV-X6. The new LCD projectors combine Genuine Canon optics with innovative new features such as Quick Start and Cool Down.

Designed for boardrooms, classrooms, and other locations requiring high-quality XGA (1024 x 768) resolution image display, these new LV-7255, LV-7250 and LV-X6 projectors incorporate impressive design improvements. Some of these new improvements include an easy to use control panel and an enhanced remote control with a new Drag mode to allow presenters to wirelessly drag and move on-screen graphics as they are presented. The projectors also feature a user-friendly on-screen menu, an automatic Power-Off timer, Wall-Color Correction, and quiet operation for uninterrupted presentations.

The new Canon LV-7255, LV-7250 and LV-X6 multimedia projectors are engineered for a range of users and budgets, and provide 2500 ANSI lumens, 2000 ANSI lumens, and 1500 ANSI lumens, respectively. All three projectors have a shorter throw distance compared to previous models, to help them deliver maximum visual impact in smaller spaces. They are capable of projecting a crisp 100-inch image from only 9.6 feet away (an even more impressive 8.3 feet for the LV-7255 projector). This is an essential feature for classrooms, small conference rooms, and courtrooms that require bright, "large-screen", high-fidelity images in tight quarters, making these projectors suited for presenting data from laptop computers, video from VCRs and DVD players, or live images from the Canon RE-455X Visualizer. The new projectors can also easily connect to Canon digital camcorders and digital cameras for fast seamless video projection.

The LV-7255, LV-7250 and LV-X6 multimedia projectors output high-quality XGA (1024 x 768) resolution imagery and also support UXGA (1600 x 1200) and SXGA (1280 x 1024) resolution display through high-quality compression. The LV-7255 and LV-7250 features a 600:1 contrast ratio (500:1 on the LV-X6), and all three models come standard with a genuine Canon 1.6X wide angle zoom lens. What's more, the LV-X6 and the LV-7250 models features an improved simple menu display, allowing users to change settings quickly and easily, via the projector or remote control while information can even be displayed in one of 21 languages.

Canon's new LV-7255, LV-7250, and LV-X6 multimedia projectors provide versatile display options to help ensure the best possible display regardless of projection surface. Canon's Wall-Color Correction ensures accurate color display even when a projection screen is not available. These projectors also feature seven different surface color adjustments to help project accurate color onto non-white surfaces (greenboard, light yellow, light green, light blue, sky blue, light rose, and pink). These settings help project accurate color on various colored surfaces, whether it's a classroom blackboard, the wall of a conference room, or an office partition. Furthermore, Automatic Keystone Adjustment on the LV-7255 and LV-7250 models instantly corrects the image up to +/-30 degrees vertically for those instances when the projector is not centered.

The image display is enhanced based on preset Flexible Image Settings including Presentation, Video (for standard video), Cinema (for film based video such as DVD or HDTV), Standard (for maximum color accuracy of graphics), sRGB (suitable for sRGB content), and one custom setting for LV-7255. A Color Management system can be used to further fine-tune colors and black tones.

For faster set-up and break-down of presentations, Canon's new LV-7250 and LV-X6 start up in only eight seconds, while the new LV-7255 starts up in nine seconds. All three models cool down in approximately 30 seconds, so the projector can be put away soon after the presentation ends. An automatic power-off timer lets users select any period between 30 minutes and 16 hours as the power-off time period (LV-7250 and LV-X6 projectors), maximizing power management and energy efficiency.

Suited for small conference rooms, Quiet Mode reduces the projector's fan noise to only 30dB for the LV-7255; 29dB for the LV-7250 models; and 25dB for the LV-X6 model. (By comparison, a typical library is 40dB and an empty office 30dB.) The Long-Life Lamp feature can provide up to 3.000 hours of operation for the models LV-7255 and LV-7250 projectors, and 4.000 hours for the LV-X6 projector.

Connections for Canon's new LV-7255, LV-7250 and LV-X6 projectors include S-Video, Composite, Component (through the VGA terminal via an optional cable), two VGA input terminals (LV-7255 and LV-7250 projectors), one VGA output terminal (for connection to a computer monitor), and audio input and output. The Canon LV-7255 projector weighs 7.3 lbs, while the LV-7250 projector weighs 6.6 lbs and LV-X6 projector weighs 6.4 lbs. These projectors include a three-year parts and labor/120-day lamp-life limited warranty. These projectors come complete with Canon's new "Triple P" Projector Protection Program for added value. It is Canon's pledge to customers to provide a loaner in the case their projector requires servicing.
