Elesys' and Lexmark's One-Step DVD/CD Recorder-Printer

Elesys Incorporated and Lexmark International, Inc. has announced the Elesys DUET 400, the smallest DVD/CD Recorder-Printer available in the U.S. market. Manufactured and distributed by Elesys, the DUET 400 relies on Lexmark inkjet printing technology.

The DUET 400 is based on innovative and patented technology that allows the printer mechanism to be positioned on top of the drive, creating a small footprint device, minimizing space requirements and producing functional efficiency. Its small size makes the DUET 400 suited to integrate and use in a variety of settings and applications, such as music, photo and video kiosks, office data backup and storage, medical digital imaging, photography and videography.

Utilizing Elesys RadialPrint technology and Lexmark inkjet technology, the DUET 400 enables users to record content and print professional-quality full-color text and images directly onto the surface of an inkjet-printable DVD or CD. The DUET 400 ensures integrity between content and label by burning data to the disc and labeling it while the disc is still spinning in the drive, eliminating the need for multiple insertions.

The DUET 400 DVD/CD Recorder-Printer prints up to 1, 200 dpi with printing speed of 20 seconds to about 2 minutes, depending on image level, ink density and coverage. The DUET 400 supports most Windows-compatible labeling and recording software packages. It comes standard with the SureThing SE CD/DVD Labeler for DUET and the Sonic MyDVD, CinePlayer and RecordNow. The USB 2.0 Interface makes it simple to connect.
