| JPEG2000 Codecs on a Combined TI DSP and Altera FPGA Platform BroadMotion has announced that it has released its JPEG2000 compression/decompression technology for a hardware platform that combines an Altera Cyclone II FPGA and Texas Instruments TMS320DM64x DSP-based digital media processor. JPEG2000 is the next-generation International Organization for Standardization still image and video compression standard. In July 2005 it was adopted by the Digital Cinema Initiative as the format for the storage and distribution of major motion pictures.
