| Coastcom's Two New Ethernet Over SONET/SDH Platforms Coastcom has announced it has broadened its optical product line to include the RazorAccess 1600 Multi-Service Provisioning Platform (MSPP), and the RazorAccess 800 Next-Generation SONET/SDH Add Drop Multiplexer (ADM). The RazorAccess 1600 combines the functionality of a SONET/SDH ADM, Layer 2 Ethernet Switch, Channel Bank, and Digital Access Cross-Connect (DACS) in a single rack unit (1 RU) over an optical trunk with speeds up to OC-12/STM-4. In addition, the RazorAccess 1600 platform allows for a variety of voice and data services via plug-in modules that can be added and removed as required. This allows service providers to optimize their networks by installing only the actual services required when they are required (pay as you grow). The RazorAccess 800 platform delivers Gigabit Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and TDM services from a very compact (1/2 RU wide) platform, that is well positioned for 3G and Broadband wireless backhaul. The RazorAccess 800 is a cost effective add/drop multiplexer that combines nxT1/E1 digital access and Ethernet Virtual Concatenation (VCAT) with powerful grooming and cross connect capabilities. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Computing News :: home page |
