| Quantum Data Introduces 882D Video Test Instrument Quantum Data has announced the release of the high-end 882D Video Test Instrument to its lineup of video testing products. The Quantum Data 882D offers increased video speeds for analog and DVI outputs. These higher speeds support testing of high-performance computer displays. The 882D is the first 880 series generator that supports dual-link DVI with HDCP on both links. Analog speeds have been increased up to 400MHz. The 882D provides a single HDMI output that supports full single-link transmission rates. Single-link SDI/HDSDI output is an optional feature. The 880 series instruments feature an intuitive user interface that gives users quick access to powerful functions. The instrument can also be controlled from a web browser, Telnet client, GPIB or serial interface, or custom control application. The 882 can be connected to an Ethernet LAN for remote configuration and control. To simplify system upgrades, networked generators can boot from shared system files stored on a file server. Generators can also be cloned or upgraded using a Compact Flash card. A powerful software development kit allows users to create complex custom patterns using C++ APIs previously accessible only to Quantum Data software developers. Each pattern is stored on the generator as an independent file, which can be copied to other 882 generators. Standard tools can be used to create bitmapped patterns in BMP or JPEG formats. The generator can output pattern files stored locally in the generator, on a Compact Flash card or on a file server. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Computing News :: home page |
