| The New Most Powerful Laptop on Earth CompAmerica seized the flag at the top of the hill again with the announcement of its new Dual Core Laptop, the 17” Wide Screen WUXGA Orca X2, which CompAmerica calls: “The New Most Powerful Laptop on Earth!” CompAmerica’s Orca X2, which uses the AMD Athlon 64 X2 CPU, a multi core 64 bit CPU rated from 3000+ all the way up to 4800+ (that’s right: rated as fast as a hitherto future product from Intel, possibly years away: the 4.8GHz Pentium 4 CPU) “MHz” performance! The X2, CompAmerica claims, is now the NEW Most Power Laptop on Earth, taking its place next to CompAmerica’s ORCA 9098, a Pentium 4 model also called “the most powerful”! CompAmerica indicated Orca X2 is “extraordinary at Gaming, exceptional at CAD CAM, incredible at Video, and remarkable at Data-Crunching!” Based on the same ultra feature-rich housing as the 9098, the X2 offers the same four choices of video: Quadro FX Go 1400 video (alternative video boards from the nVidia 6600 and 6800 line and ATI’s Radeon x800) with 256MB of GDDR3, it offers dual SATA-150 or ATA-100 mobil hard drives with 8MB Buffer and 72000 RPM operation, and dual CDRW or DVDRW drives as the other Most Powerful Laptop on Earth: the Intel Pentium 4 based Orca 9098. CompAmerica’s new Orca X2 is a real powerhouse! Brought out during a PC-X Gamers event at CompAmerica’s headquarters, the X2 quite literally blew testers away, demonstrating how it can run PC Gamer Software it was even faster than the IBM/Microsoft xBox 360. Even so, the Orca 9098 supports and includes a much higher resolution, built-in 1080p Wide HDTV aspect ratio Video Adapter and Ultra Wide Viewing Angle Glass View Screen LCD. CompAmerica noted that Microsoft’s xBox 360 only supports a 728p format, (1280x728, which is considerably lower resolution than the X2’s 1920x1200 resolution.) The X2 also offers 8 Channel SRS Wow High Definition Audio, with five built-in speakers including a subwoofer and 5.1 channel S/PDIF interface, The tested models included Windows 2003 Home, Windows 2003 Pro, CompAmerica’s AX5 Desktop Operating System, and Windows MCE 2005 Media Center Edition.
