Charleston Jazz Presents Eye of the Beholder - Music of Chick Corea

On August 20, 2022, several prominent jazz pianists will have the freedom to create their own arrangements and perform them with the Charleston Jazz Orchestra. The setlist will celebrate and honor the music of Chick Corea. The featured artists include: Gerald Gregory, Abdiel Iriarte, Demetrius Doctor, and Arshak Sirunyan.

As a pianist of incomparable skill, Chick Corea broadened the scope of jazz during a career spanning more than five decades. With limitless range, Corea was an inventive composer-bandleader who never shied away from new ideas, exploring sounds ranging from fusion to classical. According to Corea, "Great art is made when the artist is free to try whatever techniques he wants, and combine things any way he wants."

Eye of the Beholder - The Music of Chick Corea will be presented at 5pm and 8pm at the Charleston Music Hall on Saturday, August 20th, 2022. This performance is made possible in part by REV Federal Credit Union and Richard & Elizabeth Hogue. Tickets can be purchased at CharlestonJazz.com.

"The talent you have gathered together to form this group is awesome and never ceases to bring me pleasure and tears whenever you all play…"
Lloyd M.
