| IJS Research Roundtable Presents: Miles Davis: New Research on Miles Davis & His Circle By Masaya Yamaguchi: November 13, 2019 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM IJS Research Roundtable Presents: Miles Davis: New Research on Miles Davis & His Circle Presentation on "Quincy Troupe Papers SC MG 635" By Masaya Yamaguchi Wednesday, November 13, 2019 7:00 pm- 9:00 pm Dana Room, 4th Floor John Cotton Dana Library Rutgers University-Newark Brief Synopsis: This presentation is based on a new book "Miles Davis: New Research on Miles Davis & His Circle." Miles' friend, Dave Liebman says, "Masaya painstakingly points out inconsistencies in the well-known biography of Miles and backs up his assertions with fact-based quotes (most often by Miles himself) and writings." Just to make clear, this book is not meant as a takedown of Quincy Troupe. This book and presentation are intended for academic jazz studies and with luck, you will enjoy Miles: The Autobiography maybe twenty times more than already. As a reminder all roundtables take place in the Dana Room of the John Cotton Dana Library at Rutgers University-Newark. Starting time is: 7:00 PM Refreshments will be served.
