Jazz vocalist PAULETTE DOZIER to perform at Herb Alpert’s “VIBRATO Grill Jazz” September 30, 2018

Sultry, Silky and Sexy – Paulette Dozier sings Jazz… from the heart and the soul.

"...Dozier's bewitching voice...does a soul good."

Los Angeles, California, September 2nd, 2018:
Jazz Artist Paulette Dozier will make her Los Angeles Concert Debut at Herb Alpert's premier jazz club "VIBRATO Grill Jazz" on September 30th with two shows - 7:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.

Renowned for her sultry alto voice and dynamic stage presence, this multi-faceted singer/actress infuses every one of her performances with a depth far beyond the usual. Her voice has been called 'deep, steady, and sexy, ' and she masterfully uses it to communicate a repertoire that infuses unforgettable jazz standards with today's edgy and contemporary sounds.

Having performed with jazz greats such as Ira Sullivan and Eddie Higgins, and opened for the likes of Roy Ayers and Erykah Badu; as well as the late legendary comedian Shelley Berman, Dozier knows how to bring a powerful performance. Her own show presents an impassioned musical program that visits some of the most cherished female voices and personalities in jazz history paying homage to stars like Nancy Wilson, Lena Horne and more. She presents some of their signature songs while also treating the audience to a few of her own original tunes. For this performance at VIBRATO her guest entertainers, international chanteuse Maria Elena Infantino and Neo-Soul singer Chantel Deniese, both bring their own unique style to the program to honor great ladies of song.

Dozier is featured on several international recordings and has produced three well received CDs of her own; In Walked You (2012), Over & Over Again (2007) and With You (2005). Her voice has also been heard in voiceovers for such products as Nature Valley Granola Bar and Haagen Dazs ice cream, plus in a range of musical theater productions one in which she played her most beloved role as the iconic Lady Day, jazz singer Billie Holiday.

And although her passion for the theater runs deep, this two time Carbonell Award nominee made a move to the City of Angels in 2016 to explore the possibilities of an acting career in TV and film. A two-year hiatus from singing allowed her to fully discover the opportunities available in La La Land and since that period, her acting career has expanded from musical theatre, commercials and print work, to working in screen productions such as the Foster's and feature film "Play to Pray."

Now, gearing up after this worthwhile hiatus, Dozier reboots her singing career and VIBRATO's elegant ambiance with its comfortable supper club setting is the perfect venue for west coast jazz fans to get to know this sophisticated lady. Patrons will enjoy her easy delivery, combined with a wicked sense of humor, and an innate knowledge of what her audiences enjoy; all of which make each of her performances unique and memorable.~
