SONS OF ALPHA CENTAURI Release new single "lo" + video premiere, new album "Continuum" in June!
Entitled Io this ambient post metal journey is a progressive and introspective four and a half minute epic seamlessly progresses from a spaced out bass and ambient electronic synth to a mesmerising hypnotic climax!
The single Io is accompanied by a video of the band in their natural habitat on the coast of Kent, UK their rehearsal warehouse and is interspersed with plenty of idiosyncrasies and footage one would expect from the debut video from Sons of Alpha Centauri.
Covering the four elements of fire, earth, water and air the band have embodied this tracks as the first insight into the new album majestically mixed and produced by Aaron Harris of ISIS and Palms.
The trance like pulse of the single is powered by the intelligent heartfelt basslines of Hannon, the ambience of Io lays a foundation for atmospheric arpeggios that flourish into a wall of immense distorted guitars and countering alluring harmonies from King.
The New Sons of Alpha Centauri album Continuum will be released on 1 June 2018 via H42 Records worldwide and on Cobraside Records for United States & Canada.
This is the first full-length album from Sons of Alpha Centauri in 11 years. The album is released on multiple color limited edition heavy vinyl.
Continuum is wrought with dark anthems and intense textures, introspective interludes with tidal waves of distortion. It is awash with soaring melodies and a deep underpinning of the darker side of light.
The second album has been a long time coming for the UK quartet who having reflected upon their collaborations with Karma to Burn and Yawning Man had initially looked to record their sophomore album back in 2009. Continuum sees a development of the heavier blended concepts expressed on the debut album.
Continuum showcases the return of Sons of Alpha Centauri delivering eight emotionally demanding tracks driven by their darker side.
1. Into The Abyss
3. Solar Storm
5. Surfacing for Air
7. Orbiting Jupiter
8. Return Voyage
