The Friends of Alec Wilder Present The 31ist Annual Concert

The Friends of Alec Wilder Proudly Announce The 31st Annual Music of Alec Wilder concert presentation celebrating the life and music of Wilder (1907-1980) will be held Sunday afternoon, April 3, 2016 at 3 p.m. with jazz pianist Bill Charlap as Honorary Host for the event to be held at Christ and St. Stephens Church, 120 W.69th Street, NY city.

The recently awarded 2016 Grammy winner, Charlap, will perform as soloist. Featured vocalist will be longtime NYC singer Joyce Breach joined by pianist Mike Renzi.

As in past years the program will feature both the song and classical (chamber music) side of Wilder with Canadian trumpeter Michael Fedyshyn joined by pianist Barbara Lee. Also performing will be the jazz trio of George Schuller, drums, John Carlson, trumpet and Shawn McGloin, bass.

A salute to Gunther Schuller, a strong Wilder advocate, will also be presented. Come hear the glorious melodic sounds of America's maverick and unclassifiable composer, Alec Wilder. Tickets $25. Student Tickets (with ID) $10. Available at the door.
