Maciek Pysz Releases New CD "A Journey" on Dot Time Records

Often compared to Pat Metheny and Al Di Meola, London/Paris-based guitarist Maciek Pysz released his new album A Journey, on October 15, 2015 (Dot Time Records). Recorded in December 2014 at the famous Artesuono studio in Italy, the album features the celebrated Daniele Di Bonaventura on piano and bandoneon along with bassist Yuri Goloubev and drummer Asaf Sirkis. In a recent review, UK based jazz journalist, Stephen Graham stated that Maciek is "...a major new presence on the jazz guitar scene". With the release of A Journey Maciek has once again proven this statement to be true.

About Maciek Pysz

Playing guitar was all Maciek Pysz ever wanted to do. Inspired by a long list of artists including Ralph Towner, Sylvain Luc, Pat Metheny, John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola among others. His influences come from Tango, Flamenco, Latin, Jazz, Brazilian and Classical music but his sound is his own. Critic Stephen Graham, Marlbank (2013) stated that his compositions show "genuine improvisational flair enveloping the excellent tunes. The tunes speak to you." As a performer, he creates a warm, sensual, energizing atmosphere which is appreciated by audiences around the world.

He moved to London in 2003 and quickly established himself as an up-and-coming artist and has toured the UK, USA and Europe with his own projects and as a sideman to other artists. Maciek established his project, the Maciek Pysz Trio, in 2008 and recorded his first EP "Discoveries" the same year. In 2010, he established his current trio with drummer Asaf Sirkis and bassist Yuri Goloubev. His first full studio album "Insight" was released in 2013 on 33 Jazz Records and later that year toured South of France and performed at the London Jazz Festival, Ceuta Jazz Festival.
