Blast Furnace Blues Festival

2013 Blues Music Awards Entertainer of the Year Curtis Salgado, multi-Grammy Award winners the Blind Boys of Alabama and Maria Muldaur & the Midnight Scramble headline three scorchin' days of the blues during the Blast Furnace Blues Festival presented by Highmark Blue Shield Feb. 7-9, 2014at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Other performers who'll take the stage include Grammy winners BeauSoleil; Naomi Shelton & the Gospel Queens; Candye Kane and Southern Hospitality, featuring lap steel guitar master Damon Fowler, guitarist extraordinaire J.P. Soars and keyboard wizard Victor Wainwright. On Feb. 7, Blast Furnace Blues will kick off with a night of local blues greats including the Sarah Ayers Band, James Supra Band, Dugan Thomas Band and the BC Combo. Blast Furnace Blues presented by Highmark Blue Shield hours are Feb. 7, 5 pm-midnight; Feb. 8, noon-11 pm; and Feb. 9, 1-9 pm.

EXPERIENCE BLAST FURNACE BLUES FROM A WHOLE, NEW PERSPECTIVE! Blues fans looking for the ultimate Blast Furnace Blues experience will want to take advantage of the exclusive Blast Furnace Blues VIP Package, featuring admission to all three days of the festival, as well as a ticket to the Sunday Blues Brunch, a new Blast Furnace Blues commemorative t-shirt featuring the names of all the artists, $25 gift card, meet and greets with performers, and valet parking at the festival. VIP packages are on sale through Dec. 26 for $174; the regular VIP Package price is $194. The commemorative t-shirt will also be available for sale onwww.artsquest.org/blastfurnaceblues later this fall. On Feb. 9, Blast Furnace Blues attendees are invited to enjoy a unique culinary experience at the new Blues Brunch, featuring a brunch buffet and performance by Walter "Wolfman" Washington & the Roadmasters. Among the many delicious dishes and desserts at the brunch will be challah French toast; made to order eggs with crawfish and Andouille sausage; honey-brushed jalapeno cornbread; jambalaya; crawfish ettoufee; pecan pie; sweet potato pie; and white chocolate bread pudding.

The event will take place from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and tickets are only $49 through Dec. 26. Regular price for the brunch will be $59. This year's Blast Furnace Blues will also feature a new Blues Photography Workshop taught by Brian Hineline, a concert photographer who has shot hundreds of shows over the past 15 years for Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Time Magazine, Entertainment Weekly and other publications. The workshop will include a classroom session featuring tips and tricks for taking great concert photos, plus the opportunity to photograph the artists from the special media area at Blast Furnace Blues.
