Micha Schellhaas releases Third Episode Song , “Neonia“

On October 24, 2013 musician Micha Schellhaas released the third song from his new EP, "Neonia" –a ballad featuring big guitar tones supported by the rich sound of a Hammond B3 Organ. This song serves up a soulful Gospel vibe with a healthy helping of Blues. An accompanying video clip includes an interview with the album's sound enginner, Jorge Costa, who talks about the inspriring opportunity to produce original compositions filled with the skillful and live sounds of accomplished players.

It is a rare opportunity for a young musician like Micha to receive a generous musical connection to an accomplished guitar player and producer like Carl Verheyen. Such a display of mentorship gives a big chance for this type of hand made music to pass on to the next generation. Carl is a world class guitar player and top level, sought after, LA based studio musician. He has released 13 records in his own name as a solo artist, and played with the band Supertramp since the 1980's. Carl offered to produce Micha's EP after hearing his playing and compositions. Carl Verheyen notes, "Micha is a very melodic player and has great tone on the guitar." Carl invited other world class musicians to play on the album such as Chad Wackerman (drums), Dave Marotta (bass), and Jim Cox (Hammond B3 Organ).

Each song from the EP is being released separately over a 4 week period. The release started in early October, 2013. Each Episode features a free download of a song to those signed up to Micha's email list. Along with the free download, subscribers can get an insiders peek into the creative process through a short video showcasing the well-known accompanying musicians, as well as the recording and production process.

Originally from Germany, Micha picked up the guitar at age 9 and has since focused his life on mastering the art and soul of this instrument. Albums of artists like Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Eddie Van Halen are inspirational roots for Micha, traces of which are felt in his playing today. Also heavily influenced by the Kings of Blues, Albert King, B.B. King, and Jazz masters, George Benson, John Scofield, and Mike Stern, Micha's sound blends warm, strong rhythms with open dynamic melodies.

Micha earned a Masters degree in jazz guitar at the prestigious Netherlands ARTEZ Conservatory. Post-graduation, Micha played all over Europe including Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Poland, and owned and operated his recording studio TRINIX STUDIO in the Netherlands.

In 2008, Micha hit the open road across America, with sights set on experiencing more of American blues and jazz culture. While living in Austin, Texas, Micha composed, produced, and played with many up-and-coming musicians and industry experts. Micha now continues his music career in California.

The EP is available as a free download for people who are part of Micha's online release program. Sign up happens at www.michamusic.com
