Hiatus Kaiyote Announces U.S. Tour + Debut Album Tawk Tomahawk

Melbourne's internationally acclaimed "future soul" band Hiatus Kaiyote announces their US tour kicking off in Las Vegas on July 25th including stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Miami and others. In addition to headlining club dates they will open up for Erykah Badu and D'Angelo in Columbia, MD and Detroit, MI and for Shuggie Otis in New York City at Central Park's Summerstage.

A new version of the band's debut album Tawk Tomahawk, featuring Q-Tip, will be available digitally on July 16 and physically on July 30 via Sony Masterworks' new imprint Flying Buddah.

In little under two years, the band has gained legions of fans from all over the world including highly-respected artists like Questlove, Flying Lotus and Erykah Badu, plus tastemakers and audiophiles like London-based DJ Gilles Peterson, Stereogum and KCRW. The band attracts such a diverse following because the music doesn't fit within the boundaries of a single genre. Each track is like a key ingredient in the listening experience that adds to a fusion of jazz, hip-hop, electronic, opera, rock and soul.

"Music has always been medication to us, " lead singer Nai Palm explains. "It's a force for self-healing that we're ready to share with the world." Through a musical symbiosis, the band has created its own lane and Tawk Tomahawk showcases the breadth of their talent and love for music lyric by lyric, beat by beat.
