"The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal has been a bright light on the international scene for many years, and organizers have displayed great creativity in the past to renew the exciting Festival program to live up to its reputation of the largest jazz festival in the world. Mission accomplished again for this 34th edition, which features thousands of well-known and emerging artists from over 30 countries at the Quartier des spectacles. The jazz fest is no less than a 10-day voyage of discovery through the world music scene. As a partner of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal since the beginning, the Ville de Montréal has contributed to the event's success by providing significant logistic and technical support for the outdoor segment and through generous financing over many years. The sums invested this year by the city come from government assistance granted as part of the Entente Montréal 2015, which is managed by the Secrétariat à la région métropolitaine.

"The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal is the pride of Quebecers. As the world's largest jazz fest, it kick starts the other festivals and events held in the metropolitan area. The jazz festival is one of Montréal's many cultural events that contribute to its reputation as one of the liveliest and most exciting cities of the world, also recognized for its creative spirit and know-how. I would like to congratulate the organizers of the event, who have displayed a great deal of imagination over the past 34 years to make the event a success", said Jean-François Lisée.
