Doug Balmain's debut album, Troubled Mind.

Pondering Poet Publishing, Co. is proud to announce the release of internationally known, Americana singer/songwriter and guitarist Doug Balmain's debut album, Troubled Mind.

The Troubled Mind album was initially recorded in Nashville, Tennessee but upon listening to the final product Balmain described the album that came out of Tennessee as "commercialized" and felt obligated to bring the album back to its more wholesome roots. He returned to Wyoming, surrounded himself with musicians that shared the same musical ideals as himself and completely re-recorded the album in Wyoming. The music on this album is expressed largely with an alternative-country style and sound but also encompasses rock 'n roll and blues influences. The core of this collection of songs lies in their genuine and honest lyrical qualities while the fusion of raw, grassroots Americana influences gives this album a distinctive style and unique sound.

"Balmain's style and voice put him near the likes of Justin Townes Earle and Langhorn Slim, but still within earshot of country singers like Chris LeDoux when he hits the twang."

Being strongly attached to the ideals of Americana music, Balmain's main focus is creating music that serves each individual song as its own, unique entity in order to tell his lyric's stories in the most effective way possible; his infamous reputation for blending styles validates that point. Not only does Balmain express musical diversity in the studio, but he is also notorious for spontaneity and innovation in live settings; from performing solo, acoustic folk-ballads to breaking into unplanned "funk jams" with his 5-piece band all during a single show.

Troubled Mind has already received heavy media attention via newspaper publications, radio performances and interviews, major network TV appearance requests, as well as international radio air play. A national and international tour behind the Troubled Mind album is currently being planned, 2013-2014 dates will be announced soon.
