Wycliffe Gordon Swings (and Sings) On This Week’s 12th Street Jump

Jazz Journalist and Downbeat Critics Poll Trombonist of the Year Wycliffe Gordon tears it up on this week's 12th STREET JUMP, public radio's weekly jazz, blues and comedy jam. Heard each week on forty-two stations around the country, 12th STREET JUMP is one of America's most popular live jazz variety shows on the radio. Ask your local public radio station to check it out on PRX or Content Depot. "We had a great time with Wycliffe on the show, " commented 12SJ host Pete Weber." Besides the Dizzy tune Blue 'N Boogie and the Bird's Now Is the Time, Wycliffe cut loose on three numbers from his great tribute to Louis Armstrong Hello Pops—Basin Street Blues,

Swing that Music and Gordon's own composition Hello Pops. The cat can swing…and sing, too; and the sounds he gets out of that trombone are amazing."
