The Marcus Roberts Trio + Béla Fleck Confirm ‘Across The Imaginary Divide’ Tour

Universally acclaimed jazz ensemble The Marcus Roberts Trio and multi-Grammy award-winning banjo player Béla Fleck are touring in support of their "disarmingly fresh" (NY Times) collaborative new album, 'Across the Imaginary Divide' (Rounder). The band, born from an incredible impromptu jam session, will play a special one-time-only run of performances across the country, see full list of tour dates below.

'Across the Imaginary Divide' blends propulsive and meditative jazz with Fleck's progressive take on bluegrass and roots music. "The whole goal of it was to inspire each other, " says Roberts, who, along with his trio, trades fiery licks and "a sublime swirl of arpeggios" (NY Times) with the virtuosic banjo player throughout.

Marcus Roberts is a pioneering jazz pianist, composer and arranger. The breadth and depth of his work, from original compositions to acclaimed interpretations, has earned him several top charting albums on the Billboard Jazz Top 10, multiple nationally recognized awards and appearances on such top media outlets as Charlie Rose and Nightline.

Béla Fleck is one of the world's premiere working banjo players and the recipient of 14 Grammy Awards. He is best known for his work with the band Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, who have made several appearances on The Tonight Show (with Johnny Carson and with Jay Leno) and Conan O'Brien.
