Bobby Sanabria and MSM Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra Showcase Mambo Nights In Hollywood

On Thursday, October 20th Bobby Sanabria and the Grammy-nominated MSM Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra will be showcasing Latin Jazz in the Movies when they present a program, Mambo Nights In Hollywood. That evening included will be music made popular by such films as The French Connection, Harold Arlen's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" from the Wizard of Oz; The Thomas Crown Affair; Quincy Jones' Austin Powers' theme; as well as the Mambo scene from Bernstein's West Side Story, among others.

The concert is at 7:30 p.m. and takes place in MSM's Borden Auditorium.

Bobby Sanabria and the MSM Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra has reached international acclaim by playing at prestigious jazz conferences, and in NYC jazz clubs as well as through two critically acclaimed Grammy-nominated recordings (on the Jazzheads label) – Kenya Revisited Live !!! from a historic 2008 concert held at Manhattan School of Music that celebrated the 50th anniversary of Machito & The Afro-Cubans 1957 masterwork, "Kenya"; and recently with Tito Puente Masterworks Live !!! that has been nominated for a 2011 "Best Jazz Recording" by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts (LARAS).
