Phish Announces Four Year-End Shows at Madison Square Garden

Phish will close out 2011 by playing four consecutive nights - December 28, 29, 30 and 31 - at New York City's Madison Square Garden. The band has played 19 shows to date at the legendary venue, beginning with its December 30, 1994 concert and including last year's three-night stand, which concluded on New Year's Day.

An online ticket request period is currently underway at http://phish.portals.musictoday.com/ and will end on Monday, October 24, at Noon ET. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, October 29, at Noon ET. Ticket prices will include a free MP3 download of the evening's entire show (a fully mixed soundboard recording) that can be redeemed at www.LivePhish.com shortly after the band steps off stage.

Phish's 2011 summer tour included the band's first-ever concert at Los Angeles' historic Hollywood Bowl, its first appearance at San Francisco's Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, and Super Ball IX, Phish's ninth festival and the first to take place over Fourth of July weekend.

In a feature on Super Ball IX, which was held at Watkins Glen International, the New York Times observed: "there aren't many rock bands anymore that can play for 13 hours, 17 minutes and 22 seconds over three days and genuinely leave those fans wanting more...And there may be no band in the world that goes to lengths as extravagant as Phish does to provide a multi-day entertainment experience."
