Canadian String Super-Group Sultans Of String Tour & New CD

Canadian string super-group and 2010 JUNO Award Nominees (Canada's Grammy's) Sultans of String have released their stunning new CD, MOVE. This third album weaves a truly global sonic tapestry, influenced by Spanish Flamenco, Arabic folk, Cuban rhythms, jazz, Bossa, and French Manouche Gypsy-jazz music. MOVE is a riveting musical adventure, seamlessly traversing diverse themes of heart, place and tradition. Fiery violin dances with kinetic guitar while a funk bass lays down unstoppable grooves. Acoustic strings meet electronic wizardry to create layers and depth of sound.

"Canada's ambassadors of musical diversity" Sultans of String includes six-string violinist Chris McKhool (who has guest starred with Jesse Cook & Pavlo), duelling guitar wizards Kevin Laliberté (Jesse Cook, The Chieftains) & Eddie Paton (Robert Michaels), bass master Drew Birston (Chantal Kreviazuk, Amanda Martinez) & the jaw dropping talent of Cuban percussionist, Chendy Leon (Alex Cuba)! Special Guests include a who's who of the world music scene including: Amanda Martinez, Dala, Ernie Tollar, Ken Whiteley, Kevin Turcotte. Recorded with engineers Jeremy Darby (U2, Pink Floyd) & Nik Tjelios (Pete Seeger, Ken Whiteley). Mixed George Seara (Michael Jackson, Sting). Mastered at Sterling Sound, NYC.
