Sean Sullivan Quartet at the Toro Lounge at Smyth Hotel in Tribeca

Sean Sullivan, the "Tribeca Troubadour" appears with his quartet in a chic new Tribeca hotel and a matador-inspired basement lounge where the only bulls will doubtless be red ones paired with vodka! Expect intensity! 85 West Broadway & the corner of Chambers Street. 212-587-7000. 2 train to Chambers Street. Sean Sullivan, a two-time winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in the jazz category, is a southern-born native New Yorker, and a Tribeca-based jazz and blues singer/songwriter/guitarist. Critical acclaim for his "crossover" work places him in the league of original artists like Harry Connick, Norah Jones, Jamie Cullum and Diana Krall. Having trained, performed, recorded with, and been endorsed by jazz legends, Sean has cultivated a unique "voice" and style ~ serving up a savory gumbo of grooves from his own musical melting pot. He has performed at many major venues and festivals in NYC and abroad, blending numerous genres; from latin and funk to bebop and swing, bossa nova and ballads to reggae and folk. Sean recently released his new CD "Square One" with a packed performance at the legendary Birdland Jazz Club. The CD has also been very well-received on the radio. In addition to numerous on-air interviews, the project's rich blend of originals and standards has been featured on over 120 stations with three originals in heavy rotation on SiriusXM's "Real Jazz" channel and ClearChannel's "smooth jazz" IHeart Radio. "Square One" has also garnered considerable praise from reviewers, aficionados of swing and classic standards, vocal jazz buffs, blues lovers, and the more discerning serious jazz listener. It features a host of jazz greats including David "Fathead" Newman, Marvin "Smitty" Smith, Lonnie Plaxico, Akira Tana, Kenny Davis and many others.
