3rd Annual Grafton Music Festival

The third annual Grafton Music Festival, a multi-day musical event, will be held in Grafton, Vermont from Friday, July 1 through Sunday, July 3. Most of the events held are free for all ages and complement annual festivities taking place throughout southern Vermont. The pinnacle event of the weekend is the 21st annual Vermont Symphony Orchestra (VSO) concert & fireworks at Grafton Ponds Outdoor Center to be held July 3. The Grafton Music Festival is a community-run organization to showcase the arts and music scene in Grafton, Vermont.

Friday, July 1
6 p.m. The weekend kicks off with a FREE outdoor concert featuring Skip D & Tim. A favorite area duo, Skip D & Tim play light rock and pop. The concert will be held behind The Old Tavern at Grafton inn. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

Saturday, July 2
11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Grafton Village will come alive with celebration featuring more than a dozen local artisans on display, children's activities run by the Grafton School PTA and local food vendors. The Grafton School's annual duck race will also take place that afternoon at 3 pm.

1 p.m. Free outdoor concert featuring Banjo Dan and the Mid-Nite Plowboys, a five-piece dynamic and original bluegrass music. With countless performances under their belts and an extensive catalog of acclaimed recordings, the Plowboys have developed strong name recognition, a large fan base and a reputation as top-notch entertainers. Location: behind The Old Tavern at Grafton inn.

5 p.m. Free outdoor concert with Eilen Jewell. Since her official 2006 debut, Boston-based Eilen Jewell has surveyed a wide range of traditional musical styles, from the folk and jug band leanings of her early recordings, through an album-length homage to Loretta Lynn and the country gospel of her work with The Sacred Shakers, right up to 2009's Sea of Tears, which bristled with the electricity of '60s UK garage rock and Chicago blues. Location: behind The Old Tavern at Grafton inn.

8 p.m. Free concert featuring Flamenco fusion guitarist Evan Cary. Cary, flamenco guitarist and composer based in Madrid, Spain will perform at The Old Tavern at Grafton inn's Phelps Barn as part of his New England summer tour. He will perform traditional Spanish flamenco and original flamenco fusion compositions.

Sunday, July 3
10:30 a.m. A special church music service featuring Moonlight & Morningstar, gospel and soul singers along with pianist Miro Sprague. This concert will take place at the Grafton Church in Grafton Village. All are welcome.

7:30 p.m. The 21st annual Vermont Symphony Orchestra will perform under the stars at Grafton Ponds Outdoor Center followed by a spectacular fireworks display. The event benefits the Grafton Fund. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for picnicking.
