Mycah Chevalier Honored by Cambridge Who's Who

Mycah Chevalier, Musician, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in musical performance. Propelled by her love for music and the support of her family, Mycah Chevalier has become a distinguished musician. As a soulful vocalist, she stirs a hypnotic blend of jazz, soul and blues, spiced with hints of her Creole upbringing.

As a child, Ms. Chevalier performed in a host of musical productions through Howard University Children's Theater, The LaVerne Reed Dancers, Kennedy Center's Children's Theater and the Washington Choral Arts Society. In addition to completing coursework at the National Cathedral School, she decided to sharpen her vocal studies under the instruction of Ricky Payton, founder and director of BET's Urban Nation Hip-Hop Choir and HBO's City at Peace. She furthered her vocal studies at Howard University School of Performing Arts and Mount Vernon College under the guidance of Washington Opera's mezzo-soprano, Linda Allison.

Ms. Chevalier has shared the stage with such legends as The Whispers, Patti Labelle, Luther Vandross and Arturo Sandoval. Her tremendous vocal and performing talents led to her casting by the playwright and choreographer, Debbie Allen in the theatric production of Soul Possessed, starring world renowned recording artists, Patti Labelle, and trumpet player, Arturo Sandoval. Ms. Labelle's inspirational words of encouragement led Ms. Chevalier to seize an opportunity to sing around the world. She spent three months in Ethiopia and Sweden, where she was featured as the opening act for recording artist, Ja Rule during the Ethiopian New Year Celebration.

Currently, Ms. Chevalier promotes her skills by marketing via her website and coordinating with other musicians. Through vocal and performance coaching, she passes on her expertise to children and teenagers as well as creating musical and vocal arrangements along side partners Kimberly Lewis, Kal-El Gross, and LD Lee under their name, "Schoobies". You may hear their handiwork on Mycah's debut project, as well as a host of other independent artists from gospel to alternative rock!

The newest chapter of Mycah's journey begins with the release of her debut CD Roux's Fantasy, and her endeavors with New Soul Group guiltypleasures. Roux's Fantasy, which features 11 original songs, has already taken the United States and United Kingdom by storm with her first 2 releases "Forgiveness" and "Back N Forth". In Addition, "Anticipation (The Remix)" (Featuring Mycah and Kal El), the first release from the debut album guiltypleasures, "lovestories", is getting countless spins in New York, Philly, California, overseas and is now in rotation on D.C.'s Own Original Quiet Storm on WHUR 96.3FM, as well as Baltimore's WEAA 89.9FM. guiltypleasures has also just been nominated for Best New Artist of the Year for Soul Tracks 2010 Reader's Choice Awards.
