| A Community Building Jazz Project Howard Rees (Howard Rees' Jazz Workshops) and Marilyn Field (DAREarts) invite you to attend the 'gala' opening rehearsal of our 2010/2011 Outreach Project. What: WE ARE ONE Jazz Ensemble and Children's Choir Who: Dr. Barry Harris (NYC), Howard Rees Trio, Brian Katz, and TDSB/TDCSB officials will be present, along with our 300 voice children's choir. When: Thursday Oct. 14th, 9:30 - 11am Location: Albert Campbell C.I., 1550 Sandhurst Circle Scarborough With great pleasure, we announce the 3rd year of our mandate to empower children in 'high priority' neigbourhoods of the GTA through hands-on exposure to the beauty and power of Jazz music. This year we will work in North Scarborough. We are delighted to say that our expectations have been surpassed. Our Children's Jazz Choir of 300+ voices will be augmented by representatives of previous program years from Toronto's downtown core, and North Etobicoke; a 40 voice teen choir, a big band; string section; the Toronto Jazz Chorus; Howard Rees' Trio and very special guests Dr. Barry Harris (NYC) and Charles McPherson (San Diego). We believe that the continued success of our work is an indication of the great need for creative music programming in 'high priority' areas of the GTA.
