Jazz Vocalist Dirk Etienne returns to L.A.

Dirk Etienne will return to Los Angeles to perform at the Vibrato in Bel Air on Sunday, October 17th at 6:30 p.m. Dirk will take the stage with Mark LeVang, Jim Fox and other top L.A. musicians to perform selections from his first jazz album, High Standards. Mark, whose music credits include working with Natalie Cole, Jennifer Hudson, B.B. King and Elton John, will accompany Dirk on the piano. Jim, who has toured with artists such as Frank Sinatra Jr., Barry Manilow, and Rosemary Clooney, will accompany Dirk on the guitar.

Dirk lives on the Monterey Peninsula and, since the release of High Standards, has made special appearances throughout California. He is wrapping up the production of his holiday album, Music, Martinis & Mistletoe, to be released in November. Earlier in Dirk's career, he played in local Hollywood clubs as well as on a national tour for over 1 million fans. Summarized nicely by Brad Chambers from MartiniInTheMorning.com, "Dirk Etienne is one of those guys, like so many of us Boomers, who grew up actively listening to rock 'n' roll, the pop music of the day... but like so many of our generation, time polished his style and helped him reach this new standard that touches the heart of a generation seeking a little sophistication."

The Vibrato: One of Los Angeles' most exciting new restaurants, Vibrato Grill Jazz... etc. is also the city's premiere jazz space. Elegantly proportioned and warmly appointed, the room's sweeping scale blends effortlessly with an intimate ambience. Vibrato also features a state-of-the-art sound design, which provides the ideal acoustic environment for appreciating the world-class players, like Dirk, who perform at the venue. The cuisine, created by Herb Alpert with Bob and Gregg Smith ranges from palate-tempting appetizers and salads to tantalizing entrees and sides through divine desserts.
