Salt-N-Pepa to Perform at House of Blues Atlantic City in October

Atlantic City entertainment for the fall includes the female music group Salt-N-Pepa, performing at the Taj Mahal on Saturday, October 9. They will be performing on the Etess Arena at 8 p.m.

Salt-N-Pepa is an American female group that had great success in the late 1980s and 1990s in hip-hop, rap, dance and pop music. The group, consisting of Cheryl "Salt" James Wray and Sandy "Pepa" Denton, along with DJ/rapper Spinderella, formed in 1985 in Queens, New York.

Since releasing their first album in 1986, the trio has sold over 15 million albums and singles worldwide, making them one of the best selling female rap acts of all time.
They released five albums with their 1993 album Very Necessary achieving the most sales and was certified five times platinum. Six of their single releases were certified either platinum or gold in the United States by the RIAA.

In 1994, the group received three MTV Video Music Awards for "Whatta Man, " including Best R&B Video. In 1995, they received the Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo
or Group for "None of Your Business."

The group officially split ways in 2002, but Salt-N-Pepa continues to work and perform together.
