Vancouver Jazz Group Hits Apple (aapl-nasd) Itunes

A Vancouver jazz group has captured the interest of Apple (AAPL-NASD) iTunes. Geoff Peters Trio is cutting the virtual ribbon to its new feature page on the Web's most popular music store.

"The iTunes exposure means big things for our band, " pianist Geoff Peters says. "It also means big things for our fans, who can get a sense of who we are and what drives us, musically."

The page will feature the band's newest full-length album Quiet Night, including the songs Delicate, For Kris, and Balance in All Things. In addition to North American popularity, the CD is finding a market in Japan with a new distribution agreement in that country.

ABOUT GEOFF PETERS TRIO:

Geoff Peters Trio rose from obscurity to attract attention within Vancouver's jazz community and amass fans of all ages - all in the last five years.

The group has released two studio albums, Spacious Nest and, most recently, Quiet Night. Its repertoire also includes 10 tracks recorded live at venues in and around Vancouver and five singles.

The album Quiet Night is named for one track, the album's first single and the band's first music video.

A new store on iTunes features the Trio's latest album.

Geoff Peters is 28 and originally from Vancouver. He plays as part of the Geoff Peters Trio and as a solo act under his own name. The pianist recently wrapped up a five-year run as part of contradance group Sybaritic String Band.
