Michael Fath Releases "The Girls of Yesterday"

Award-winning rock, fusion and jazz guitarist, songwriter and producer Michael Fath, announced today he has written and released his debut novel - "The Girls of Yesterday." "The Girls of Yesterday" is a testimonial, in general, to women's intuition, strength and intelligence; and, in particular, the "Southern coming of age" story of a brother and sister's shared and profound love for each other growing up.

Jesse, the main character, headed to college in the deeper south to play basketball, feels great separation anxiety from Loretta, his one year younger sibling who all through their life exhibited physical, mental and even spiritual skills beyond the norm. While at college, Jesse develops an endearing friendship with Jess, a multi-talented young black football sensation, who brings to their relationship his racial perspective of growing up in the rural south, as opposed to Jesse's more sheltered childhood. These themes play constantly; with laughter, sorrow, horror, tragedy, and romance found in abundance, and infused throughout with this story's main and other very colorful characters, finishing with an integrated and surprising conclusion!

"Writing 'The Girls of Yesterday' truly was a labor of love and a great learning experience, " said Michael Fath. "This book appeals to a wide range of audiences and connects with readers who can relate their own lives with one or more characters in the book. So often in life, it's not about the trials and tribulations we all experience, but how we deal with them that defines who we are."

Michael has already established himself as a truly international phenomenon with a staggering range of instrumental recordings that feature unparalleled versatility with both acoustic and electric guitars. He is a native of the Washington, D.C. area, but began spending part of the year in Austin, TX after headlining at SxSW back in 2003.
