New Christmas CD Stamping Out Bah-Humbugs

"It's Christmas Time with Sylvia Bennett" has been released, and after listening to the new CD with treasured holiday songs and four new original tunes, even Scrooge will be humming along.

Grammy-nominated smooth jazz and pop vocalist Sylvia Bennett, of Key Biscayne, Florida, partnered with award-winning Miami producer Hal Batt to create original Christmas songs "destined to be the next classics, " says music critic Jeff Becker.

Becker says, "This CD is highly recommended to stamp out the bah-humbug in anyone!"

He also notes, "This CD is about celebrating: life, family, friends, love and good cheer."

Music critic Bruce Von Stiers says, "Each year I go through the albums I will play for guests and family. 'It's Christmas Time with Sylvia Bennett' will definitely be at the top of my playlist for this year's holiday season."

International recording artist Sylvia Bennett and Dove Award-winning producer Batt have worked together for nearly 25 years and have achieved critical acclaim for their work, including "Songs from the Heart, " featuring The Three Tenors - saxophonists Boots Randolph, Ed Calle and Kirk Whalum; and "There Will Never Be Another You, " with jazz legend Lionel Hampton.

Four new songs are featured on the CD along with classic favorites Winter Wonderland, Silent Night (complete with gospel singers), Silver Bells, Santa Claus is Coming to Town (a Santa rap version with a hip hop beat), Let it Snow, and The Christmas Song (chestnuts roasting). A new song, It's Christmas Time, brings together the spirituality of Christmas and the wonder of the season. A Rainbow Christmas features a children's choir, while new songs Wrap You Up for Christmas and Christmas Lights are inspired by the spirit of giving, says co-writer Bennett.

Sylvia Bennett is known for her crystal-smooth, silky vocals inspired by Ella Fitzgerald, Barbara Streisand and Rosemary Clooney. Sandy Shore of Smoothjazz.com says, "Her voice has amazing clarity. The warm, sweet and smooth delivery is breathtaking."

Bennett travels throughout the world, but will be back in Key Biscayne to celebrate the holidays and will perform Dec. 12 at Bertofino's at The Towers at Key Biscayne, 1111 Crandon Blvd. Seating is limited and reservations are available by calling 305-365-8580.
