Mar Creation Records - 2009 Tri-Star Holiday Concert

Independent record label, Mar Creation, Inc. will be hosting a unique holiday concert featuring international artists spanning the genres of jazz to tango. The concert will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 7:30 pm at the Korean Community Church of NJ, U.M.C., 17 Tenafly Road, Englewood, NJ. It is one of three holiday concerts Mar Creation Records will host within the tri-state area during December.

The festive holiday concert will feature Japanese songs in their traditional version and some with a contemporary twist to them. Each of the artists will demonstrate the beauty of adding a modern flair to a timeless traditional song. Audience members do not need familiarity with the Japanese culture - just a desire for a warm-hearted evening of holiday music.

Three groups of professional musicians will be performing: Nabuko Kiryu and Satoshi Inoue (Jazz), Naoko and Satoshi Kanazawa (Classical) and Machiko Ozawa and Makia Matsumura of m2duo (Tango). Nabuko is a jazz vocalist who has played such famous clubs such as the Blue Note, Lenox Lounge, and Showmans – and has performed with legendary jazz giants. Satoshi Kanazawa is an accomplished composer/arranger/pianist whose debut CD, entitled "Flowing Blue", was recently released by Mar Creation Records. The CD coincided with a successful CD release concert featuring soprano vocalist Naoko Kanazawa this past September. Naoko has been performing as a solo artist and recently appeared at the well-respected HIBIKI Vocal and Piano Concert. The duo, m2duo, consists of two Julliard graduates who are best known for their Nuevo Tango – Astor Piazzolla's music. But their repertoire also covers classical, jazz, film/world music, avant-garde and electro-acoustic, as well as their original music.
