Orquesta La Palabra: Blame It On the Holic

Palabra will hold his CD Release party, Blame It On the Holic, on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at 7:30pm at popular Studio City, CA restaurant, Mamajuana's located at 3707 N. Cahuenga Blvd, Studio, City, CA.

Vida Salsera's, Dena Burroughs, www.vidasalsera.com, described Musicholic as a "romantic lullaby written for and about, la lengua de amor, " the language of love.

Holic fans will pay $10.00 at the door and receive a free CD upon entrance. Orquesta La Palabra will announce and personally autograph his Musicholic CD for the person who writes the best romantic lyric. Lyrics should be 25 words or less. The winner will be announced live on the evening of the event, when La Palabra will sing the winner's lyric live on stage at the event. All participants are asked to forward a copy of their written work to www.salsabird32.blogspot.com. The deadline is 12:00 midnight, October 19th.

La Palabra is best known for his ability to produce and recreate popular songs into his special style of salsa romantica. In 1980, American pop singer, Lionel Richie, obtained across-the-board success with his hit single "Lady, " (originally performed by Kenny Rogers). "Salsa Romantica" is pure romanticism - a style La Palabra refers to as Ballada en Salsa (which later was appropriately coined Salsa Romantica).

His album, Versalles Orchestra, was the first on Latin charts to be known for its rendition of Lady.

El Tun Tun de Tu Corazon is still being heard in International Hispanic markets and was performed by Orquesta La Palabra on the A la Siete con Fernando, Channel 41 in Miami. During October, Orquesta La Palabra is set to tour in Miami and Texas with the Lebron Brothers .
