Kelly Mittleman Has "A New Reason"

I think it's safe to say singer/songwriter Kelly Mittleman has a Midas touch! She was an award winning journalist and correspondent for CBS and NPR, a finalist in the Today Show Superstar Contest (out of 5000 entrants), which brought her to the attention of mega producer Nile Rodgers (Chic, Madonna, David Bowie), who subsequently produced her debut CD Kelly.

She is a 2009 finalist in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) for her song "Cake, " from her new CD A New Reason, which features all original material. Songs from the CD have also been chosen to be in the forthcoming feature film, Hollywood & Wine, which stars David Spade, Pamela Anderson and an all star cast, reuniting many of those from Saturday Night Live during the late Chris Farley years. How did she get this big break with her music in a feature film you might ask? Just one of those things for Kelly – the film's director Matt Berman happened to see her perform in a local club in her hometown in Connecticut and knew her material would be perfect for the film.

A single mother of two, this beautiful, talented woman is not your standard jazz artist. Her songs and vocal quality are an extraordinary mix of jazz, soul and R&B. And, her appearance at the Catalina Jazz Club in Los Angeles marks her West Coast debut and promises to be a "coming out party" for this sensational artist. For this exciting West Coast appearance, Kelly has assembled an all-star band featuring Andy Ezrin on piano/keys, David Finck on bass, Chris Parker on drums, Bill Bickford on guitar and Richie Gajate Garcia on percussion.
