'To Little Russia With Jazz'

The Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium/CBJC presents an evening of Jazz in the Brighton Beach section of Brooklyn sometimes called "Little Russia". The concert will be held on Saturday, October 3rd, 8:00 PM, at the posh Oceana Hall located at 1029 Brighton Beach Avenue just one block north of the Brighton Beach boardwalk. Performances by The Jeff King Band with vocalist Gregory Porter, Juju Jazz Band plus Brooklyn Bebop jazz dancing.

CBJC is known throughout central Brooklyn for bringing first class jazz acts into the community. Now this not for profit arts organization brings Brooklyn jazz favorites: Jeff King Band, Juju Jazz Band and jazz dancing to the Russian community of Brighton Beach and welcomes all jazz fans.

Oceana Hall is a spectacular venue with theatrical staging, sunken dance floor, unobstructed views from all seats including its cozy intimate balconies. The Jeff King Band has been entertaining music lovers for over a decade playing the best of the New Jazz Standards. Vocalist Juju Gordon has jazz in her blood (niece of Dexter Gordon); her smooth relaxing styling's and swinging band will reach out and touch you. Bring your dancing shoes, jazz dancing will be on the bill also as Brooklyn Bebopers strut their stuff to the live music performances.

Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium founded in 1999 is an amalgam of jazz musicians, venues, faith based organizations, community based organizations and patrons of the music. Over the past nine (9) years, they have presented an annual spring festival, established a Brooklyn Jazz Hall of Fame and Museum and produced yearly programs of events and activities that feature local and international jazz musical talents. CBJC is a non-profit organization committed to preserving, promoting and supporting jazz music, musicians and programs.
