My Mississauga - Eclectic Blend of Indie Rock, Hip Hop and Jazz

My Mississauga brings your summer to a close with a mix of music and fun for the whole family to enjoy featuring indie rock bands, hip hop competitions, a jazz legend and a model boat regatta.

"My Mississauga has been a huge success this summer, " said Melissa Di Carlo, manager of My Mississauga. "Starting in September the City Centre will be under redevelopment so, please join us next summer in the Living Arts Centre park for a whole new season full of culture, concerts and community festivals."

My Mississauga is the City's largest festival of summer events featuring a mix of free culture, concerts and community festivals, that reflects Mississauga's rich cultural diversity.

4 The Win, 6:55 p.m. – Enjoy catchy pop-punk riffs to mellow walking bass lines and crazy drum solos.
Panama Red, 7:25 p.m. – Influenced by a mixture of musical genres this band is closely related to reggae punk.
Omega 3, 8 p.m. – A unique version of ska punk that isn't heard too often and throws you a few twists covering songs such as "Santeria" by Sublime, and the theme song for the TV show "King Of the Hill."
Walk Off The Earth, 8:35 p.m. – This three member band will charm you with their reggae-rock styles.
Saint Alvia, 9:15 p.m. – With their roots firmly planted in punk rock, the band also draws inspiration from genres: roots, rock and roll, blues, soul, dancehall reggae, country, new wave and hip hop.

Behaviour
In collaboration with the Culture Division, join this jam that exposes youth potential in music, art, and dance in an ode to the history of 'sauga' urban culture. There will be bands, visual arts, local vendors, live DJ's, along with an inspiring hip hop competition.

Model Boat Regatta
Join the Metro Marine Modellers for their annual friendly Hi-Point Regatta competition on Mississauga's Reflecting Pool (City Centre water fountain). Each fall, the 50 year old club invites participating clubs and sailors from Southern Ontario and the New York State to take part in this exciting event.

Start your weekend off on Thursday at the City Centre, with the music café at noon featuring The Johnny Max, a blues and R&B band, followed by yoga on the lawn at 6 p.m. and movies under the stars at 9 p.m.
