Geneva College Jazz Band to Perform Big Band Favorites

For those who appreciate music from the 1930s and 1940s, get ready to hear the big band sound performed live. On Sat., April 4 at 8 p.m., the Geneva College Jazz Band will showcase In the Mood XIV "Big Band Music Returns, " in the John H. White Chapel on Geneva College's campus.

Some of this year's selections include "Georgia on My Mind, " "My Funny Valentine, " "April in Paris, " "Something's Gotta Give" and "When I Fall in Love"

"These In-the-Mood concerts have become such a tremendous night of fun and energy, " says director Don Kephart. "Seeing a full house and watching such a wide range of ages enjoy the same wonderful music together is just a great experience."

The community is invited to attend but tickets are required. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students, and may be purchased or reserved through the Geneva College's department of music office 8 - 11 a.m. or 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, phone 724.847.6660. Tickets are limited for this high-demand concert.

Note to visitors: due to construction on campus, the easiest way to find parking is to enter the campus at the intersection of 4th Ave. and 35th St. Public parking is available in the Alumni Hall parking lot located on the far end of campus.
