Coming from Belgium to tour their native Canada with the new Sarsaparilla Jacuzzi LP, Benito Band will be stopping at The New Bayou in the Market for a Sunday night spectacle to remember. Benito Band formed in the dank Brussels winter of 2008 and recorded their first EP, "Benito Band: The Two Man Gentleman Band, " the following spring. Since then, they have been scouring the city for audiences, performing in parks, cafes, pubs, house parties, river barges, countryside schoolhouses, and even a Turkish bath.

This organ-drum duo releases a bohemian storm of energy with their lumbering rhythm, nostalgic melodies, and dense vocal harmonies. Music inspired by influences ranging from blues and ska to soul and rock and roll is coupled with thick imagery in driving lyrics to leave people dancing and wondering. On their first Canadian tour they are playing concerts in Bayfield, Kitchener, Mississauga, Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa before returning to Belgium for weekends of packed-out concerts leading up to their August 2009 European tour.
Don't Miss it!
