| Chronicles Of Solomon Quick Launch At ‘What’s Cooking’  The Lucky Strikes invite you to join them for the launch of their Album Chronicles of Solomon Quick on 18th of April. The Launch will take place at the Sheepwalk, Leytonstone during the legendary Country/Blues/Folk 'What's cooking' night. Poison's his gift for the lover he misses but his story has faded away in the distance – These are the Chronicles of Solomon Quick The Lucky Strikes are a blues/Americana four piece delivering tales of outlaws, desperadoes and chain gangs in 1930s Mississippi. Their second record, the Chronicles of Solomon Quick tells the fictional story of the man responsible for the death of singer and guitarist Robert Johnson. The sprawling 12 songs blur reality and fiction, sanity and madness, morality versus infamy. While Johnson's murder is the essential backdrop for the album, the seedy lives of a wide range of fictional characters are the focus. Fusing widescreen Americana, garage blues and bar room rock and roll, the record is currently being developed as a novel and screenplay. The intended result has more in common with a Nelson Algren novel than a standard rock album. The album is due to be released on April 18 The Lucky Strikes' self-titled debut album was released in 2007 and has sold through word of mouth and the band's constant gigging. One of the tracks, 'Aint Coming Home' was used in the US series Life which aired on NBC in the States in November.
